Additional responsibilities include: Assuring an environment exists whereby patient flow can be maintained. This includes room preparation and stocking, patient identification and placement, initial patient evaluation and data gathering, facilitation of patient movement through the clinic, therapeutic interventions as approved by training level, and constant communication with the health care team to assure adequate patient flow. Perform other related task/duties as may be requested or assigned by Manager for the effective and efficient function of the department and District operations.
File/Chart control – assemble and analyze patient charts, file patient charts and paperwork into patient files. Under the direction of department manager and according to HIPAA standards purge and destroy patient files. Insure quality of data processed, completeness, accuracy and conformance with all regulatory standards. Organize according to set format patient medical records and file charts. Insure that all medical information documents are properly filed in a timely manner. Organize and scan documents into patient EMR with the goal of meeting the facility goal of becoming paperless.
Perform other related task/duties as may be requested or assigned by Manager for the effective and efficient function of the department and District operations.

Quality Improvement Director: Responsible for planning and implementing the quality improvement program to meet the needs of the District. Provides education to medical staff, District staff and Governing Body. Facilitates improvement activities and QI activities throughout the hospital. Acts as resource person to administrative team, department managers and medical staff. Performs clinical risk management functions. Oversight responsibility for all regulatory body surveys, i.e., State Licensing Review, CMS Validation surveys. Maintains oversight responsibility for all Quality improvement activities conducted throughout the institution.
Risk Manager: Responsible for clinical identification, risk evaluation and coordination of corrective action implementation related to risk issues. Provides intervention and education related to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and quality care and services in an environment that is beneficial to the safety, health and well being of all patients, visitors and District staff. Coordinates risk programs with all District departments, administration and the legal counsel. Reports real and potential risk situations to the Governing Body, medical staff, administration, District departments and committees, as appropriate. Responsible for establishing and monitoring methods to avoid, eliminate and/or reduce risk situations associated with the provision of patient care and services.
Compliance Officer: Establishes monitors and updates the facility's corporate compliance program. Demonstrates knowledge and keen understanding of all applicable laws and regulations. Educates all facility staff, outside contractors and agents of the requirements of the corporate compliance program. Has the authority to recommend disciplinary action when appropriate. Chairs the Compliance Committee meeting, schedules and records committee meeting minutes.

As the District Coder, you will review ambulatory, inpatient and outpatient medical records for pertinent and justifiable medical information to verify or assign classification (ICD-10, 10-CM, CPT) and reimbursement codes that adhere to coding and sequencing guidelines and conventions. Review coding of denials screened by the Denial Management team to determine if CPT and ICD-10 codes were billed correctly based on the medical record.
